THIS WEEK ON THE ART CHAT
On balancing the ins and outs of running a creative business
The Art Carte ยท 5 min read
Hi, and welcome to the very first edition of The Art Chat! Join us as we dive into the tid bits of what it takes to create the Art Carte, from random inspiration at 2am to the more boring admin stuff.
The name
Why call it the Sunday Scroll? Simple, I do my best inspirational work on Sunday evenings. Now, I may be a little rusty but there's just something about a quiet evening after a full day of lazying around. Let's put it like this; I get the opposite of Sunday scaries.
What can you expect?
A break from your daily scroll. We interrupt your daily scroll to bring you insights into The Art Carte. Expect everything from what inspires our illustrations to what to write on a greeting card and everything in between.
Finding the sweet spot
Somewhere between conceptualising and figuring out logistics is the sweet spot; the reason we do any of this.
It's the moment you tell us that an Art Carte journal is the first thing you reach for with your morning coffee, or that your water bottle hasn't left your side in months.
Thatโs the moment that reminds me of the 14 year old who would drag her dad around stationery shops looking for the perfect planner at the beginning of every school term (any Nairobians remember Seal Honey?)
Everything else is just the framing around it.
Until next Sunday,
